PEACH FUZZ: WILL IT BE AS BIG AS MILLENNIAL PINK?

Anyone remember millennial pink, that soft pink shade that dominated the late 2010s? Pantone, the colour specialists, kickstarted the return of pink by naming rose quartz as the colour of 2015. Two years later their shade ‘Pale Dogwood’ cemented the trend for a few more years. Fast forward to 2024 and it looks like they’ve chosen a peachy take on millennial pink, offering up a soft warm colour called Peach Fuzz. Apparently this colour denotes themes of ‘connection, closeness, care, and energy’ for the year ahead. I would’ve thought that a punchier orange would bring a sense of energy, but I can see the soft hue being synonym with kindness and tenderness, combined with the warmth representing a sense of caring and sharing. All in all a very positive message – let’s hope it can truly symbolise 2024. Here I share how to bring the colour of the year into your beauty and wellbeing routine – a lower investment than changing your wardrobe or your interiors. You know, just in case it doesn’t have quite the same longevity as millennial pink.

Clinique Moisture Surge Overnight Mask

Starting with the pinkest end of the colour spectrum here, and offering a full-on flashback to the millennial pink era: Clinique’s Moisture Surge range played up this shade’s popularity which I picked up in my post The Secret to Glowing Skin. Pale pink packaging with just a hint of pearlized cream to take the edge off overly girlie, this fragrance-free overnight mask also delivers a high dose of moisture while you sleep thanks to shea and mango butters, for hydrated and plump skin when you wake up.

Heimish All Clean Balm

Another product on the more pastel end of the Peach Fuzz scale, this cleansing balm hailing from cult Korean skincare brand Heimish is packaged in a pink and peach leaf-patterned box and jar. Ideal as the first step of the much-lauded Korean double cleanse routine: use as a makeup remover to dissolve excess sebum and impurities, then follow up with a gel or foam cleanser.

Pai The Impossible Glow in Rose Gold

Still on the pale pink side of things, Pai’s glow drops in rose gold add an instant radiance boost when mixed with your moisturiser or foundation. A skincare-makeup hybrid, it’s enriched with hyaluronic acid to simultaneously feed dehydrated skin and bring year-round mica-enhanced shimmer.

NailKind in Ohh My Orange or Sahara Dreams

Nail polish is the easiest way to bring an ephemeral colour trend into your beauty routine, and when it comes to wearable shades, NailKind nails it every time (pun intended). Go safe with a subdued warm sandy beige touched by sunset in the shape of their ultra-wearable Sahara Dreams, or brave the punchier Ohh My Orange take on Peach Fuzz with a fruit-inspired bright orange hue bursting with energy.

Naturtint Nourishing Shampoo & Conditioner Bar

Now we’re getting to a truer representation of Pantone’s colour of the year. Naturtint’s nourishing haircare range is fully packaged in a soft orange shade. Choose from their shampoo and conditioner combo, or opt for the certified natural 2 in 1 Shampoo & Conditioner Bar, specifically formulated for dry and damaged hair to deeply nourish and restore shine.

The Body Shop Pink Grapefruit Shower Gel

Ah The Body Shop – it’s had a sad start to the year, so here’s hoping it can somehow be reborn from its ashes and become once again a relevant brand that campaigns for positive change in the beauty industry. Its Pink Grapefruit Shower Gel features a pretty mix of pink and orange grapefruit pattern on what looks pretty much like a Peach Fuzz background.

Neal’s Yard Remedies Vitamin C Brightening Booster

Now firmly in the orange spectrum, this line up wouldn’t be complete without a Vitamin C skincare product, as they’re invariably packaged in a gently orange shade. This skincare booster from Neal’s Yard Remedies has just the right concentration of vitamin C to brighten and even skin tone, but without sensitising it. Paired with Kakadu plum, the world’s most potent source of vitamin C (it contains almost 100 times more vitamin C than oranges!), it delivers a punch, but gently.

Apo.Ge Renewing Night Elixir

This rich and deep golden oil delivers the brand’s star ingredients manuka and hemp oils to the skin for a nourishing and soothing result. And it’s housed in a fully recyclable glass bottle and cardboard orange cylinder.

Vegum Fish-free Omega-3 Gummies

Finally, a couple of natural health add-ons to finish off this Peach Fuzz line up: Vegum’s certified vegan Fish-Fee Omega-3 supplements come in the shape of bright orange gummy bears that deliver a dose of essential vitamins such as B12, D, B6, Selenium, Iodine and Iron…

Fushi Turmeric Juice

… And Fushi’s turmeric juice brings a decidedly stronger take on Peach Fuzz with its deep orange colour. A daily shot of Fushi’s 100% raw and pure cold-pressed, unfiltered turmeric superjuice will ensure you start the day the healthy way.
