HOW TO MATCH YOUR JEWELLERY TO YOUR MANICURE

The finishing touches to an outfit can make all the difference. Apparently Coco Chanel once said ‘Before you leave the house, look in the mirror and remove one accessory.’ It’s not just the number of accessories, but also what it is and how you wear it. Because a manicure is usually so visible – whether you’re typing, holding your phone, touching your face (23 times per hour apparently!) or expressively talking with your hands – it can play a big part not only in completing an outfit, but also in highlighting the right piece of jewellery. Here are a few tips to get you started:

  1. Jewellery and manicures should compliment, not compete against, each other
  2. It’s all about balance: if your bling is bold, pair with a muted pattern-free nail colour, or let expressive nail art do the talking with delicate jewellery
  3. Show off your personality in your pairings, as a reflection of your unique style
  4. Have fun! There are no mistakes here, be creative and try out different combinations

Using some of Gnoce Jewelry quality signature pieces and my favourite vegan nail enamel brand Nail Kind, I’ve created four pairings, from classic with a twist to bold and confident.

Gnoce Simple Circle Link Necklace

Minimalistic and elegant, this necklace is a versatile piece and definitely more on the pared back spectrum of Gnoce’s huge offering, which includes everything from bracelets and charms to necklaces, rings and earrings. The super fine delicate chain frames a simple sterling silver ring, designed to be clad with your favourite Gnoce charm, from a personalized photo charm to a fun seasonal Christmas-themed one (and yes you still have time to order one of those as many of Gnoce’s most popular items are shipped within 24 hours, with custom jewellery taking longer).

Pair with Nail Kind I’ve Got This: This ultra-wearable metallic shade, a brushed silver that glimmers without being too bold, complements this necklace’s sleek design. I’ve Got This pairs perfectly with the light-catching simplicity of the necklace, and its cool metallic sheen will make any charm you add to the necklace really pop.

Gnoce Letter Charm Pendant

Personalize to your heart’s content with Gnoce’s Letter Charm Pendant to spell out meaningful words, initials or names. Crafted in 925 sterling silver with 18K gold plating options, these are compatible with most popular bracelets, and there are so many to choose from that you’ll get lost in the cute styles and customised options.

Pair with Nail Kind Disco Diva: This bold dusky hue perfectly complements your personalized, playful charms, with the dramatic tone enhancing the shine of the pendants adorning your bracelet or necklace. Or why not match your manicure to the charm’s colour, from Wicked’s green hue to a Christmassy red.

Gnoce Black Star Stud Earrings

These celestial-inspired earrings hint at an evening outfit, but are discreet enough to work for daytime too. As with all Gnoce jewellery, the lightweight, delicate 3-star studs were delivered in dark peach toned box and matching velvet pouch.

Pair with Nail Kind Tokyo Nights: I had fun with this one and picked the vibrant midnight nail enamel not specifically for its colour, but more as a play on the nocturnal theme. Hinting at beaming city lights and capturing the essence of the city after dark, it’s the ultimate match for these earrings’ cosmic charm.

Gnoce ‘Vows of Love’ Heart Adjustable Couple Rings

Sold as a pair, these adjustable rings are supposed to be worn by couples to signify their commitment to each other. Not to be confused with engagement rings or wedding bands, I’ve only ever come across them in K-dramas. But did I give one to my husband? Of course not. I think they work even better worn on the same hand. But sure, by all means gift it to your significant other.

Pair with Nail Kind Rose Delicious: What better way to complete a romantic, heart-shaped design than with a soft, pastel pink polish? This is the ultimate romantic shade, reminiscent of candy and romance, so if that’s taking things too literally and sickly-sweet, swap for the lime green Apple Crush shade, worn with confidence.
