CHRISTMAS BEAUTY GIFT GUIDE 2020

I currently live in a country where it is illegal to visit family and friends. Where children’s birthday parties are a criminal offence and where you are actively encouraged by the authorities to grass up your neighbours. Under the COVID rules Father Christmas would surely be shopped to the police for entering multiple households outside of his bubble, spreading the dreaded plague across the country. Or would he get a derogation like the Easter Bunny did in New Zealand? Not only that but he falls under the high-risk category himself, being severely overweight, incredibly old and no doubt suffering from various underlying health issues from the thousands of mince pies and litres of sherry he downs every year. All in all I won’t be sad to see the back of 2020, but before doing so let’s make the most of stores reopening and pick out a few much deserved treats. Here is my Christmas gift guide for a year like no other.

Nourish antioxidant duo gift set

The beauty stocking filler has become as ubiquitous as the beauty advent calendar, albeit a lot more affordable. My pick for last year was Evolve’s incredible Radiant Glow Mask, a travel size version presented in a box you could hang on your Christmas tree. My pick for this year is Nourish’s antioxidant duo gift set featuring their Multi-Tasking Super Balm and Peptide Mist. These two organic, cruelty-free and vegan minis alone can deliver the most streamlined skincare routine: use the balm to cleanse skin, follow up with the mist as a toner, reapply the balm as a moisturiser and finish off with a spritz of the mist. This year Nourish have partnered with fair trade organisation Freeset for their handmade seasonal gift bags, creating positive employment opportunities for women affected by sex trafficking in West Bengal, India. 2x 15ml RRP £15.00 (worth £19.00)

Evolve African orange aromatic Infusions

I’m no stranger to Evolve’s African Orange body wash and lotion collection, they were actually the first products I tried from the brand, and my obsession with their natural, cruelty-free and vegan formulas grew from there. The uplifting citrus fragrance is introduced with the beautiful scent of orange peel and softened with a hint of vanilla. Simply packaged with no unnecessary add-ons, it’s all about the two generously sized products that make a great value gift – especially with the current offer. 2x 250ml RRP £23.80 (was £32.00 – save 25%)

Caudalie vinosource sorbet set my hydrating essentials

I can barely go a month without mentioning Caudalie in some form or other on Fresh Beauty Fix, from suncare to beauty empties, so it’s no wonder the French pharmacy skincare brand features in my Christmas beauty gift guide. Suitable for all skin types to take the guesswork out of gifting, this trio is your 3-step skincare routine to achieve hydrated skin. The gentle soap-free cleanser preps the skin for the super light serum followed by the gel to water moisturiser for soothed and hydrated skin. Caudalie is a member of the “1% for the Planet” network, meaning the company contributes 1% of its worldwide turnover to organisations working to protect the environment. 40ml + free 10ml & 50ml RRP £23.00

Fushi discovery set

Fushi’s expertise in natural fresh-pressed oils comes to the fore with this beautifully presented set of 100% pure, unrefined beauty oils housed in an ethically made organic cotton FairTrade pouch. Oils are the ultimate multi-taskers, and Fushi’s guide on the gift’s sleeve, detailing how each of the six organic oils can be used on face, body and hair proves how versatile this kit really is. Containing argan oil (great to tame frizzy hair), jojoba oil (soothes dry skin), rosehip oil (my favourite to tackle acne scars), avocado oil (for sun-damaged skin), camellia oil (to help prevent stretch marks) and sweet almond oil (for shiny hair), this all-rounder provides a great introduction to the beauty benefits of natural oils. 6x 10ml RRP £24.00

Neal’s Yard Remedies Frankincense Intense Lift collection

For a super indulgent luxury gift that gives back to the planet, it doesn’t get much better than this collection of four certified organic and cruelty-free skincare products which target loss of firmness and wrinkles. Starting with the cocooning cleansing melt for a nourishing cleanse, this is then followed up with a relaxing frankincense essential oil-enriched serum, a green tea caffeine and turmeric eye cream for a revived eye area and finally the ultra-nourishing moisturiser full of organic butters and oils. This season, Neal’s Yard Remedies partners with the World Land Trust to protect one tree in the Jaguar del Norte reserve in Mexico for every gift purchased, preserving forest habitat and safeguarding biodiversity. 2x 30ml + 1x 15g + 1x 50g RRP £185.00
