I’m very excited to offer the very first beauty giveaway on Fresh Beauty Fix – hopefully the first of many! Rare Beauty have kindly gifted this beautiful skincare bundle by British brand Freyaluna, worth over £130. The UK’s first women-led natural beauty store, Rare Beauty features only natural, organic and cruelty-free products that are UK-made in small artisanal batches. After working on a piece reviewing this new beauty online destination I asked founder Corinne Thomas to be one of my #beautyinsider Q&A guests. I’m delighted to work with her team again and discover Freyaluna natural skincare, which one lucky winner will get to discover too! So to be in with a chance to win, read on (or head directly to my Instagram).
Created by Sami Blackford after struggling with acne throughout her teens and twenties, Freyaluna offers gentle yet effective natural skincare products. Certified in Aromatherapy and Herbal Medicine, Sami wants to encourage each of us to “take time for ourselves and turn a regular skincare routine into a daily skin ritual of self-love.” With a strong focus on wellbeing, Freyaluna cares for your skin while encouraging you to rediscover the joy in taking care of yourself.
What you can win
Part of the thrill I get out of blogging comes from discovering new beauty brands and products, and sharing these gems with you. So before putting this natural skincare bundle up for a giveaway I’ve thoroughly tested all four products from Freyaluna’s Regain Your Balance range, to make sure they’re a prize worth winning. And because I just wanted an excuse to try new skincare.
Regain Your Balance Harmonising Facial Cleanser
Cleansing is probably the most important step in your evening skincare routine to remove all makeup and daily grime (especially for city dwellers), so a wipe isn’t really going to cut it. This ultra rich creamy cleanser contains jojoba oil, patchouli and jasmine to help regulate the production of sebum, and it smells delicious. I applied it to dry skin with damp hands and massaged it into my face and neck before removing with a wet muslin cloth. The formula feels gentle on skin, with jojoba oil dissolving makeup and jasmine balancing skin’s oil production without drying it out. 50ml RRP £32.00
Regain Your Balance Harmonising Facial Mist
The benefits of double cleansing have been actively promoted by many beauty insiders and bloggers. This may be true if you’ve had a heavy makeup day, but if you have a less is more approach I believe a toner should remove any residual trace of dirt that the cleanser may not have dealt with. Containing rosewater – a popular ingredient for natural toners like Bloom Remedies’ one – this can be sprayed directly onto skin then wiped off with a cotton pad for a refreshed complexion ready for moisturiser. Ideal for combination skin, ylang-ylang has a balancing effect on sebum without drying it out. 100ml RRP £25.00
Regain Your Balance Harmonising Facial Oil
Feed your skin with this facial oil packed full of essential oils. Patchouli (reduces oiliness), geranium (balances combination skin) and lavender (promotes skin cell regeneration) soothe skin and nourish dry areas. The oil is a deep yellow colour to match its rich botanical scent, with 3 to 4 drops easily enough to massage into face and neck. I apply this harmonising oil at bedtime instead of moisturiser and leave it to work its magic throughout the night. Come morning my skin feels calm and moisturised, I only swipe over with toner before moisturising and following up with my makeup routine. 30ml RRP £32.00
Regain Your Balance Harmonising Facial Moisturiser
Across all four Regain Your Balance products you’ll find recurring ingredients such as jojoba oil, ylang-ylang and lavender which gives your skincare routine a lovely feel of – flow I guess. If this piece centred around perfume this would be the perfect example of layering, building up a fragrance by applying same-scented products for a longer lasting result. Freyaluna’s products all work together to provide a cocooning result, and the moisturiser is the perfect way to end your skincare routine. Its thick texture makes it closer to a balm, so you only need to apply a small amount. Couple this with the harmonising oil and your skin can indulge in that ultra nourished feel you tend to only get post-facial. 50ml RRP £45.00
If you want to get a taster of Freyaluna’s Regain Your Balance range it’s also available as a handy discovery kit featuring all four products in mini format (as discussed in previous posts I’m partial to the odd miniature). And on top of this giveaway Rare Beauty are offering 20% off the entire Freyaluna range until Sunday 30th September. Just quote the discount code FreyalunaRituals applicable to any full size Freyaluna product. Enjoy!
