Here are some of my wedding beauty essentials.

The Face Mask

Weddings tend to be planned well ahead so there’s no excuse not to kick start a good skincare routine. You may have booked a makeup artist for the day, but for best results it helps to provide a healthy canvas that they can work on. The Blemish Fighter

I’m a huge fan of French pharmacy skincare: they deliver great results with minimal fuss and at an affordable price. With all the high expenses a wedding often entails it’s great to find some purse-friendly solutions. There are some beauty products that I would happily splurge on, like a beautiful fragrance, but a spot cream, probably not. It doesn’t need to smell pretty or come in a heavily embossed glass jar, you just want it to do what it says it can do so that you don’t end up with a teenage complexion come your wedding day. As much as you may strive to have every aspect of your wedding day under control down to the last rose petal, some things will inevitably work against you. from torrential rain to your skin playing up. The Trusty Blusher

Wouldn’t it be lovely if your wedding day photos revealed cheeks naturally flushed with love and happiness? I’m not a risk taker so just in case love and happiness didn’t have the desired effect, for my wedding day I kept a Bourjois Little Round Pot Blush with me for a quick touch up in the evening, to ensure that I had a soft pink glow, natural or not. Bourjois Little Round Pot Blush Rose Frisson RRP £6.49 

The Long Lasting Lip Colour 

Spoiler alert : there’s some kissing involved at weddings. Especially for the bride. To ensure your lips get through the day without smudging, opt for a long lasting lip colour with a satin finish. I’ve found that L’Oréal’s Color Riche Satin Lipstick does not budge and provides an intense hit of colour that’ll last way into the evening. The Pretty Pink Nail Polish

I love bright manicures and fun nail art but depending on your wedding theme, bright turquoise nails may not be the appropriate choice. I went for my favourite colour fuchsia on my lips, nails, shoes, dress – I promise it didn’t look overwhelming, you can check here for yourself. For a more subtle look there is more than enough choice of soft pinks and nudes, I’m a fan of Ciaté’s Strawberry Milkshake for a slightly punchier pink. Ciaté Strawberry Milkshake RRP £9.00 

The Elegant Scent 

The perfume you choose for your wedding day should feel effortless, like a second skin. Different maybe from what you wear day to day, but one that you still recognise yourself in it. Florals can be classic and elegant, yet the more complex ones will bring added depth and sophistication. The Honeymoon Skincare

Your honeymoon skincare needs will depend on your destination, but unless you’re planning to go travelling for a month, chances are it’ll involve miniature toiletries. Having worked in the hotel cosmetics industry I’m a bit of a minis collector and love adapting the contents of my toiletry bag to the travel situation.
